Nestled between the wheat and corn fields, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church has served the people of the Northwest Kansas plains for 135 years. During that time, Mt. Pleasant has seen lots of change, growth, and it’s fair share of harvests. Mt. Pleasant’s goal has always been to boldly proclaim the love of Christ through the preaching and teaching of His Word, and in turn, send laborers out into the harvest field. Matthew 9:35-38 says, “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.'”
Everyone needs to belong. We need love. We need friends. We need support and encouragement. That’s why the church is like a family.
Everyone needs to “become.” We need to become better individuals, better families, and better disciples of Christ.
That’s why I am excited to be pastoring a church like Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Belonging and becoming is happening. God is at work.
I invite you to join in with us in becoming God’s kind of people and in belonging to God’s growing family.
Welcome to Mt. Pleasant.
